A time to weep…, a time to mourn… (Eccl.3:4)

There has been a tragedy in Connecticut. 28 people were killed Friday, December 14, 2012 in a mass shooting that began in a private home and ended–once again– in the halls of a school. School shootings have become too familiar in recent years, but none have been in elementary schools. 20 children between the ages of 5 and 10, along with 6 school staff (4 teachers, principal, and psychologist) of the Sandy Hook Elementary School lost their lives in the country’s second-largest mass killing. The gunman killed his mother before going to the school and ultimately taking his own life.

I feel sure that parents will be holding their children a little bit tighter and maybe appreciating them a little more in the coming days and weeks, especially in light of the season. Some parents, unfortunately, will have a real challenge from this Christmas forward.

My thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes to those who are healing.
