The entrepreneurial spirit lives on…

Today, the 6th of October is the birth date of George Westinghouse, American inventor and entrepreneur. He was the main rival of Thomas Edison in the early life of the electrical industry. My personal “connection” to him and bit of inspiration is that we are both alumni of Junior Achievement. I was a part of Junior Achievement during my junior and senior years in high school and won Quality Control Manager of the Year and Company of the Year during my brief tenure. Mr. Westinghouse was inducted into the Junior Achievement U.S. Business Hall of Fame in 1980. If only I could harness his tenacity and perseverance and business acumen into my personal life and ventures, then my time on this planet would be filled and fulfilled.

Keep on keeping on all you small business owners!

P.S. And support Junior Achievement.
