OK, I can go from being excited to being very excited. This is the official last weekend of summer. Fall begins next Wednesday, but summer seems to be hanging on and went out on this last weekend with all the fierceness and tenacity that it showed this past year. It was an unusually hot and wet summer and it was almost as though summer didn’t want to go, but had to and wanted to provide one last glancing blow. Now comes autumn with its temperance and mellowness and sense of “there, there-ness”. Extremeness will turn into moderateness, the heat of summer will turn into the coolness of the fall. Ahhhhh. I can smell it already. I’m finally going to take that drive I’ve been wanting to for so many years around the countryside. I hope you enjoy autumn wherever you are, too.
